nobody has seen me post for the last several months cause i backdated all my entries! brilliant. don't bother checking for my old entries though, i'm gonna delete a lot of them.
placement testing for physics is tomorrow and i haven't studied at all for it. in fact i was going to study like hell over summer and i've been hanging out till 4 am WAY TOO MUCH now lol. it's hella bad for my sleep, but then again since i'm going to taiwan it's all good cause i won't be experiencing jet lag now ;P. oh yeah i got a new laptop cause once again i managed to destroy my old one. i got a toshiba one for about 1,000 + 300 dollars which is pretty big and heavy but pretty damn durable. plus if i break it in the next 3 years i can send it in for a brand new one( hence the 300 dollars).
anyways summer's been good, i'm only updating to see if this post will actually show up now on people's friends pages haha.

SIRed to UCI. Failed AP Calc Final. Study like crazy for BC Exam tomorrow (yes i failed the AB final and i'm still gonna work toward a 5 on the BC exam, insane huh?). Life is the same as always, still injured and still afraid of ppl attacking me X_x. oh yeah, never got appeal back from UCSD rofl. that sucks but eh i never expected the appeal to really go through (it would be ironic if i got an appeal on monday lol). hmm since i'm going to UCI then I'm going to get a 24 Hr Fitness Card :D, and get In and Out everyday, and go to another Mission (50% Asian population at UCI!). Haha i'm still sad that most of my close friends are going to UCSD however UCI isn't a bad school, so i'm hoping to enjoy it (heck maybe my bboy friends at UCSD and UCLA will come down and meet me =P).

some ppl have no sense of respect. i can't wait till i fucking get out of highschool.
3 weeks till multicultural week is over and 1 day till the audition starts -_-. must finish music soon.
UCI it seems like..while everyone else enjoys UCSD. Gonna try to transfer to UCSD though after a year of UCI.
laptop screen got cracked. No more computer at all...whoohoo -_-;;.
i hate my life. i'm emo as usual. i'm gonna go cut myself and black my eyes. I talk too much about sex and drugs when i really don't care about that shit. i think i'll train myself to stfu.
i have no idea why i'm posting all this shit, but it seems to calm me down. sry if i rant to you recently, cause i'm just extremely dissapointed with my life right now. i say not to live a life of regret but my life seems to be full of them, irony or hypocrisy? whatever i don't care, later.

no more main computer; i'm tired of fixing my piece of shit computer. i'm pretty sure the problem now is the power supply for my computer and old HD (i have a new HD so i just need to figure out a way to switch data), except i don't want to deal with my computer again if it turns out something else is broken. it's just too fucking troublesome since i had to fix my computer at least 7+ times in the last year. in retrospect i think i shouldn't have gotten the case i've gotten nor should i have gotten that amd 3200+ deal. you get what you paid for, and in this case i paid low, for shitty products blah. (ECS mobo died and the case's power supply seems to be f-cked up). sigh, maybe i have shitty tech knowledge too --;;. who knows, although it shouldn't take too much brain power to build a computer. lame. now i want to add 512mb of RAM to this laptop because it's loading too slow --;;. However it works well for now, so i'm still happy :)

Right now I'm at the Comfort Inn at Riverside, about to tour the UC Riverside campus with my friend Eric Kim, for the scholarship celebration (I got chancellor's and he got regent's). I haven't seen the campus yet, but the school's parking lot looks nice :D...even though freshmen can't use the parking lot =(. Who made that rule anyways?! >O (didi's mad face is weird, just like her. jkjk) Riverside looks a lot like the north part of fremont, around the fremont hub or around safeway ish. I'm thinking about coming back over spring break to check out the surroundings, if i don't get into my stretch school, UCSD. Pretty much like i've said, i want to go to either one or the other (Irvine doesn't have bioengineering as a major). I want to see what's required for Computer Engineering major, and see if i can take some math-related courses that the major requires. For Bioengineering i'm gonna see what needs to be planned for my major and ish.
As for school, i got very little sleep this last week. It feels like i'm constantly stressed even though i'm not and it's really starting to affect me. However i guess it's in part due to my lack of sleep as well as future events to come. As you know, I'm takin the AP Calculus BC exam, so I've been doin the AP Calculus BC assignments. I might be unofficially switching to the AP Calculus BC class, meaning that i'll have to ask one of my other teachers to let me take their class during my 4th period AP Calculus AB, and take AP Calculus BC in first or third period. Also I need to talk to Mr. Jager if he approves of this plan. Next on my list of things to stress over is the AP English exam; I'm still not sure if I'll be taking the exam. I'm fairly certain that i would get a 3 and that it isn't worth stressing over. My literary and poetic analysis is fairly low, and not paying attention in AP English due to lack of sleep is pretty bad too =P. Moreover my grammar is terrible, and I'm certain you would find a major amount of errors in this "essay." Speaking of AP English though, I have to read 375 pages for my outside reading, or 125 pages of Shakespeare, due Friday next week and i haven't even started reading yet. Another concern is that...hmm...something that I can't remember atm, and I'll probably recall at the wrong moment. Oh wellz.
Oh and for those who didn't believe it could happen, it did. I got a haircut. and i got an apple ibook second skin for my sony vaio tx series. gg =D.

love is the delusion of the heart...
anyways out of my emo moment and into my technological moment.
I'm really happy that my parents let me get all this electronic junk that i really don't need xD. What's good is that most of these items were fairly cheap, i got a new logitech media elite keyboard and an accent acoustics 3 piece speaker set (2 speakers + subwoofer). Total it's about 50 bucks and my music does sound a lot better ^_^. Not only that, but now my keyboard isn't a dirty piece of crap that has food inside of it and tons of dust. My mom was pretty happy with the 3-piece speaker too because it improved the sound quality by a lot in her estimation and so she's letting me get a 5 piece speaker set, along with a creative sound card that can support it. Then i'm going to give the 3-piece set to my mom, which isn't bad in itself. I'm also getting a laptop bag sometime in the near future for my ultra-sexy-portable Sony TX 650 P/B laptop ^_^. Albeit, the laptop in itself is somewhat slow but expected, however the graphics are actually really nice for an integrated card, and the sleekness of the design is just B). I can't wait to bring it with me so i can start going out and use it!

| more on my laptop/rant on wisdom teeth removal at the end |
[19 Feb 2006|02:21pm] |
|
well i found a solution to the crappy button on the cd drive; there's an eject button next to the power button -__-. Note, this button was intended for use in AV Mode, which is like a media center of sorts that plays cds and shows images without wasting too much power. Another dislike i found in the laptop is the fact that the mouse and left click+right click buttons are so close to the keyboard itself. So at times i accidentally press the left click and then i have to go find my way back. However this is only a minor annoyance at first it seems; i don't have this error nearly as much now. So i suppose it's just one of those things you just gotta get used to on a laptop as small as this. In general despite it's semi-slow loading times, it runs smoothly when running winamp + firefox + aim + microsoft word. I haven't had problems except once when adobe acrobat wanted to update itself after accessing a .pdf file online. As you know, installing anything on this laptop takes forever. It takes awhile for the laptop to load the setup itself, and then if it's a big program, it'll take a bit longer to install than on a normal computer. This inconvenience is hardly noticed though because once you install it, it's on your laptop, and you can run it perfectly well =D. Kinda reminds me of the pain i'm going through from yesterday's wisdom removal -_-;;. It was bleeding constantly for roughly 17 hours yesterday and one time the clot on the upper right jaw opened up again and it was bleeding like mad. After stopping most of the blood after a long time, i just went to sleep and even more of the bleeding stopped! However there's still some blood flowing and if i'm not careful, the clot will open again cause i don't think it clotted well enough.

| well. |
[17 Feb 2006|09:11pm] |
I finally got my Sony TX Series! yay? well it looks REALLY nice, however it wasn't everything i expected it to be.
First off the specs: 11.1" WXGA display1 (1366x768) with XBRITE™ LCD technology Intel® Pentium® M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 753 (1.20GHz, 2MB L2 Cache) 1 Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 2 Integrated Wireless Wide Area Network (WAN)132 accessing Cingular Wireless National EDGE Network with SmartWi™ technology Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (802.11b/g)4 DVD+R Double Layer/DVD±RW optical drive3 512MB RAM 60GB hard drive 2.76 lbs
This laptop is extremely light =D. When i lift it up, i practically feel like nothing in my hands. It's a really small laptop, but the screen isn't lacking at all, you can still watch videos or do work fine on this laptop. The integrated wireless connections would come in handy for connecting with certain mice, cellphones, other devices as well as wireless/non wireless internet, etc. I haven't been able to setup any of those things though as i don't have a wireless router that works properly in my house. The 512MB of RAM and 60GB harddrive are all useful and isn't too little for my needs (i'm only storing music and files onto the laptop since it'll be primarily used for doing work). The DVD burner is REALLY annoying to access, and i had noted that earlier when i first went to fries to check it out. The button that opens it is really small, and a lot of the times when you think you pushed the button, all you did was push the cd drive itself. It's really really lame. The other problem i had was with install and loading times on the laptop. When i went to fry's, the laptop seemed really smooth. I turned it on and off with no lag and programs ran as normal. However mine seems to lag somewhat after startup, though that may have to do with the number of programs on that computer which try to work but don't work (i.e. my wireless connections). The programs run about the same as the one on display at Fry's, however when you install programs onto the laptop, there ALWAYS is a lag. It's to be expected of a 1.2Ghz processor i suppose, however i was still disappointed because i expected a smooth performance. Oh and lastly the sound quality is absolutely horrific on the laptop. It hurts my ears just to listen to music on it, and this is coming from someone who's used speakers that came with his computer. Obviously sound was a last priority in making this laptop, but i'll be damned if i didn't hear something more screeching blasting from that laptop. I'll need to bring my headphones more often now so i won't disturb other ppl =P.
I'm probably going to test this laptop for a week b4 i decide whether or not i want to keep it. Functionality wise, it's a bit slower than i expected, and i don't really want to deal with slight lag everytime i open up microsoft word or something. The sound is also terrible as well as the cd-drve being of poor design. I really love it though so i'm hoping that it doesn't turn out to be that much worse than i expected. If it is i'm just going to get another Sony laptop which has the standard 15.4" screen and is 5.3 lbs. 5lbs isn't much, but it still feels like you're picking up a textbook everytime you take it out -_-, which is somewhat annoying.

| it's funny |
[17 Feb 2006|12:38am] |
as a senior i can't wait for college and i can't wait to be 18. But when i think about ppl in their 20s, for some reason i think of them as old. It's kind of like the fact that once your over 21 you're 100% legal adult; you can drink, gamble, etc. Now that i reflect on how the years have progressed in my life and how i'm eager to reach the first milestone of adulthood (turning 18), it also puts dread in me because the age of 20-30 will be closeby and then i'll have to take complete responsibility of my life. Haha it sounds kinda funny huh? I guess i'll miss being a kid again once i hit the 20s, and then i'll be working my ass off till i make a couple hundred thousand and then retire at the age of 60; hopefully i'll be able to dote on some grandchildren by then. It's times like these that makes me feel i have to spend the most of my life on something that i belive is worthwhile while i have the chance (worthwhile might mean games O=) ), since i may not have a chance to utilize the last vestiges of my youth in doing what i want to do or preparing ofr my future. Haha then again it may be best not to dwell on what lies ahead and concentrate on working hard in my present. And getting sleep...shit why am i typing up this useless LJ entry when i lack a lot of sleep -_-. Time to finish the remnants of my hwk (which is pretty large) and then go to sleep. G'nite all.
P.S. I got the Logitech Media Elite keyboard and the Sony TX Series laptop. I am so friggin happy. What would make me happier is getting a bluetooth mouse in the distant future that wields laser tracking technology and is extremely reliable. =D.
I forgot if i mentioned this but i'm not getting the toyota camry 2007 hybrid till october =/. Hmm and colleges are sending acceptance letters soon. I hope I get into UCSD though that's a stretch. If i do it'll be pretty awesome cause i might meet a lot of my dad's professors and possibly be a student under one of them.

| What's up with my life. |
[14 Feb 2006|04:20am] |
I got a Chancellor's Scholarship to UC Riverside meaning i'm automatically accepted to either of the majors i applied for, which isn't bad considering UCR has both bioengineering and computer engineering which are the two majors i want. However, if somehow i get lucky and get into UCSD, i'm going to UCSD =P. I realized that my UCI major that i put down was computer science and engineering -_-;; meaning that they didn't have bioengineering there and i prbly wouldn't want to go there now haha..
My parents are gonna get a me a new car (yay!), except because of insurance issued, it won't be till october...when i'm at UC Riverside -__-;;. w-t-f lol. However because i'm helping them save money, they're willing to buy me my laptop (Sony TX Series!) whenever i want and probably some other gimmicks i want for college ;).
AP tests are coming up in 2 months; i'm gonna take the AP Calc BC exam even though i'm in AB. I finally finished the BC chapter 6 assignments, and let me tell you, those are a PAIN in the ass. My friend and i spent roughly 15 hours in total doing 5 sections. I hope the teacher gives GOOD instructions for Chapter 6 cause damn, you gotta start thinking creatively on these problems. I probably learned absolutely nothing from Chapter 6 except maybe new ways of being masochistic. Thank god for Hank though; He helps motivate me/helps me on the assignments, and i do the same for him =D. We're a great team...of procrastinators. But we'll prevail for this year's AP Calc BC exam! As for my other AP exam, AP English, i'm probably not gonna take it as i barely get a B in the class, and my command of the english language fails ever so miserably. If you ever hear me talk, you'll probably realize i make very little sense most of the time. Half the time i say opposite of what i mean, and i forgot simple vocabulary words a two year old would remember -_-;;. Methinks this may be from a general lack of sleep, as you can tell from my staying up at 4:18 am as of now to write up this LJ entry while studying for economics.
Well that's the latest updates in my life. I'm sure you were all dying to hear from me (sarcasm, a joke, whatever you like to call it).

| ZOMG ANOTHER FINALSUPDATE W-T-F |
[25 Jan 2006|10:21pm] |
right when i was typing this up, i heard a trumpet sound of triumph as a made a generic post!
Day 1- Over DI- Portfolio AP Calculus- Final
DI portfolio has some stuff missing but i'll still have an A in this class. AP Calculus- If I didn't do anything stupid i should've gotten 95-100% on this Final. If so then i have an A pretty much for sure?. I hope my decent/semi-high test avrg doesn't own me and that an A doesn't really help.
Day 2- Pending AP English- Final Biotech- Lab OH SHIT to both. I have a C in biotech w-t-f -_-. i need to maintain B in AP English
Day 3 - Soon Am. Gov - Final Physics - Final Am. Gov = need 100% to get an A- Physics = need 100% + 95/130 on labbook to get B-. GG to me -_-.
i WILL get a 3.0 dammit.
i want the 2007 camry hybrid *drools*
|
|
| Sigh |
[16 Jan 2006|11:59pm] |
I need 3 A+ on my Finals
194/200 for an A in History
derno for Math but it needs to be high lol for an A
196/200 for Physics + 100/100 on Physics Chapter 10/11 Test + last extra credit -_-;;. for a B
this is retarded =P but i'll study hard if i don't slack off. (haha i'm slacking off right now, ironic)
I need to check my grades for DI (i have to have an A) and for Biotech (i have to get a B)
Stupid biotech is kicking my ass somehow -_-.
